The album is based on the issue of understanding different emotions and the feelings hidden under them.
"Monolith" has been the credo for the last year due to various circumstances. It implied a purposeful rejection of emotionality, withdrawal into oneself, into one's own experiences in order to achieve catharsis and upward movement.

"Ograv torat" is the 3rd album of Russian one-woman project "Calm gothic". This work is inspired by the practical interest to tarot cards and it's some kind of musical reflection of powerful meaning of those cards (of some Senior Arcans, to be more concrete).
Beautiful gothic-oriented voice of Sindell, bright and atmospheric sounding of darkwave music and thematic artworks from Maria Sklepova makes this album a true gift for the fans of different posing of dark-scene.
Soms durft een mens wel eens in herhaling vallen want wederom moeten we hier vertellen dat dit een release is die enkel via download te verkrijgen is, maar het goede van de zaak is : het is geheel gratis.
Je kan je blijven afstoten tegen de huidige “downloadisering” van de muziekscene maar als het grootste deel van de cd’s niet meer verkocht geraakt, moet je er iets met doen (je kan ook gewoonweg stoppen met naar nieuwe muziek te luisteren, maar daarvoor ben je geen muziekfan geworden).
Lomeanor is een Russische website (in het Engels weliswaar) die nieuwe dark ambient en neofolkprojecten gratis aanbiedt en de meest recente release is van de Old Village.
Dit Portugees project ontstond ergens in 2007 en het was de bedoeling om de beste elementen van dark folk, neofolk en dark ambient in één trechter te gieten om daar dan het beste uit te halen.
Het duurde wel bijna vier jaar (op een eenzame EP na) vooraleer deze groep met een eerste album voor de dag kan komen, maar het was het wachten waard.
“Infinito” beluisteren is net zoiets als een fantasyboek lezen want er is niet alleen een gelijkaardige atmosfeer, je valt ook van de ene verbazing in de andere..
Men probeerde hier een werk te creëren dat de rites en de gewoontes uit een oude onbekende wereld weergeeft en je hebt het gevoel dat er ieder moment een elfje of één of andere trol uit je speakers kan komen..
De meeste muziek hier is elektronisch gespeeld en roept herinneringen op aan Les Joyeaux De La Princesse (weliswaar minder experimenteel) en vooral aan de vroegere Dead Can Dance.
Absolute must voor iedere darkfolkliefhebber.

In het kader van “ik wil veel schone plaakskes maar ’t mag mij gene frank kosten” keren we eventjes terug naar het Russische netlabel Lomeanor.
Naar aanleiding van hun tweede verjaardag boden verschillende groepen uit de dark ambient en de industrial-sfeer exclusieve tracks aan.
De meest bekende groep is hier zonder twijfel Eldar (die onlangs een deal op Cold Meat Industry verzilverd hebben) en daarnaast ook een track van hun zijproject, Asbaar.
Voor de rest vind je hier nummers van Nosens, Verney 1826, Morpheus, The Willow Landscape, Arts of Empathy en Aevum Spiritus.
Ik heb het steeds zinloos gevonden om bij een compilatie iedere track te gaan bespreken, zeker in het geval van een gratis release want het is net door zulke lovenswaardige initiatieven dat je als muziekliefhebber een mooie introductie bekomt om bands te ontdekken die normaal gezien uw oorkanaal niet bereiken.
De meeste tracks zijn van het gitzwarte soort, ambientmuziek die maar al te graag verwijst naar neofolkinvloeden (soms de vroegere Death In June) of de courante kannonen op het Cold Meat Industry-label.

This is a conceptual album which translate the relation between the ancient world, rites and costumes and an unknown world, filled of prophecies, fears and wonder. This album explores many and different ambiences, with a spectral flavor, which leads the "Old Village" to gaze to the stars and unknown gods, fused with traditional old roots folk.

On this compilation you'll find works of Eldar and their side-project Asbaar, Art of Empathy, Verney1826, Nosens, The Willow Landscape, Aevum Spiritus and Morpheus. It seems like darkest and most gothic-sounding release of Lomeanor. Enjoy.

Lomeanor: 2 years online.
2 years ago our first release was uploaded in archive.org. Actually our story begins exactly from that event. We still remember all of those people who helped and supported us all the time of netlabel's existance. We are really appreciate everyone of you and promise to continue our work for the fans of gothic and ambient music and netaudio culture for many years.
Our friends had prepared a little gift for us. It's a some songs given a present to us for our second birthday. Very soon we shall make and upload a new symbolic compilation of those tracks.
